Global sections are elements that appear across multiple pages of your public-facing website—such as your logo or navigation menu. Updating an image in a global section ensures the change is reflected across all pages where that element is used.
This guide walks you through replacing a logo (or similar image) in a global section using the page editor.
Steps to Update a Global Section Image #
1. Log into the Platform #
- Log into your Market Center Sites platform.
- From the dashboard, go to Sites in the left navigation.
2. Open the Website Editor #
- On the Sites page, select Websites from the upper horizontal navigation.
- Locate the website you wish to edit and select it.
- Open the page where the image appears (e.g., the Homepage).
3. Select the Global Section Element #
- In the page editor, click on the image element (e.g., logo) you want to change.
- The selected element will appear in an orange box, with its name displayed in the lower-right corner of the box.
- A settings panel will appear on the right side of the screen.
4. Access Logo Settings #
- Scroll through the settings panel until you see Logo Settings or Brand Logo.
- Click the image icon next to the URL field under Brand Logo to open the Media Storage library.
5. Upload and Select the New Image #
- Click Upload to add your new logo/image.
- Recommended file specifications:
- File Type: PNG (with transparent background)
- Width: At least 500 pixels wide for high-quality display
- After uploading, double-click the image to select it.
6. Adjust Image Dimensions #
- In the settings panel, update the width or height if necessary.
- Tip: Adjust only one dimension (width or height) to avoid image distortion.
- For wide logos, increase width to 150–200 pixels if needed.
7. Save and Preview #
- Click Save in the upper right corner.
- Since this is a global section, changes will sync across all pages using this element.
- Toggle between Desktop and Mobile views to ensure proper sizing.
8. Publish the Changes #
- Once satisfied, click Publish in the upper right corner to make changes live.
Best Practices #
- Always use high-resolution, transparent PNG files.
- Preview on both desktop and mobile before publishing.
- Avoid setting both width and height to prevent image distortion.
