While you do not need to explain what Profit Share is, you DO need to ask for sponsorship.
There are a few different ways to go about this.
Don’t rely on Market Center leadership to remind the recruit that you are the one responsible for getting them in the chair. The person you introduce the recruit to is not always the one who works with them to complete paperwork, and it’s easy for things to get lost in translation between when you make the handoff and when they sign with KW.
Asking on the Discovery Call #
Many Career Consultants will make the ask at the end of the Recruiting Call. While it can be awkward to make the ask on the phone, it is an important step in the process. As with the Discovery Call itself, after you do it a few times, it becomes second nature.
Here’s what that conversation might look like:
One last thing. Keller Williams grows through agent referrals. The way I get credit for my work as a Career Consultant with the company is through something called Sponsorship. Everyone who joins KW names someone as their sponsor. If you feel I’ve been helpful and have provided a valuable service and helpful information to you, I’d be honored if you listed me as your sponsor into KW if you join.
Asking After the Handoff #
Another place to ask for sponsorship is right after completing the handoff. Once you introduce the recruit to the Market Center leader, sending a follow up text or email with a sponsorship ask could look like this:
Hi <<Recruit>>! I’m glad I could make the introduciton between you and <<MC Leader>>. Keep me posted on how the conversation with them goes, and if you need anything from my end. I’m happy to continue helping as you make your decision! Additionally, if you decide to join KW, you’ll be asked to name someone as your Sponsor into the company. Sponsorship is how I get credit for my work as a Career Consultant, and I’d be honored if you name me.
Both! #
Remember when you were joining KW? Who you were going to name as sponsor was probably last thing on your mind! It never hurts to ask twice, and having that reminder as the recruit moves down the path of joining the company is something they’ll appreciate in the long run as they become engrained in the amazing culture we have at Keller Williams!
